Vicetech Merchants empowers wholesalers in South Africa

Vicetech story
The first Vicetech store was our own
Five years ago, we launched an online store for selling electronic gadgets. With limited capital for inventory, we partnered with distributors to purchase single items and deliver them directly from their warehouses to our customers' doors on a per order basis.
We assured our distributors that we wouldn't inconvenience them with single item orders, so we developed our own automated system linked to various couriers. The result? Every small order reached customers in less than 2 days.
Today, we empower sellers of all sizes to utilize the sophisticated Vicetech system to manage and fulfill orders, catering to wholesalers and shops nationwide.

About our founder
Songezo Mhambi
Songezo, a technology entrepreneur, is enthusiastic about crafting solutions for informal economies, having grown up in the Mdantsane township.
In 2019, after seeing there was no internet provider for the township of Mdantsane, he quit his full-time job to develop Mdaswifi, which became the internet service provider for the township of Mdantsane, now expanding to more towns in Eastern Cape, providing connectivity to countless homes, schools, and businesses with budget-friendly, swift, and reliable internet.
He keeps seeking innovative technology solutions for various challenges in townships and other informal markets.

Our commitment & motivation
Guiding many informal sellers to become online merchants
After noticing a number of wholesalers in KZN, Gauteng and Western Cape, we observed these small to medium business owners dedicating themselves to posting product images on WhatsApp groups daily to promote their products.
After all this work, they still needed to gather images and screenshots from potential customers to fulfill orders. This involved manually calculating order totals. While some customers didn't end up purchasing, we felt the admin work was excessive and time-consuming. That's why we acted.
